It’s raining today and it’s quite cold! 50 degrees F over here in Oklahoma. I’m all snuggly with my TARDIS blue writing gloves, plaid Sherpa blanket, and my Grandpa’s old cardigan as I sit at my desk.
It’s been a rough few days, I don’t mind telling y’all. I had a weird Fibro flare this weekend and it affected my arms of all things!
I had some weird back pain and numbness for a couple days—the numbness scared me a bit since I’ve not had that symptom before— and then just as I was breathing a sigh of relief this morning at not having much pain . . . BAM! My jaw—TMJ—started to act up. >_<
Needless to say, I wasn’t pleased.
But the world continues to spin and I must too. I made a wonderful breakfast—diced sautéed zucchini with a farm fresh egg gifted to us by our lovely hens—took my supplements, made some tea, and sat down to write after gathering some mums for our table.
Funnily enough the rain started just as I came in from cutting the flowers!
I’m trying not to focus on the pain, but also not hide it away in the corner of my mind. See the research I’ve done states that the more you ignore your pain and don’t address it. The more you don’t try to help your body through it, the more damage you are doing to your mind and nerves.
So I massage my jaw, take my pills, pray, and focus what is good. I think that a balance needs to be made with addressing and then focusing on other things. So here I am! I’ll let you in on a little secret, I’m currently doing a writing crawl over with the WIF group!
Writing crawls can be such fun, especially with groups. A writing crawl can take anywhere from thirty minutes to multiple hours to even days to complete! I know three of us, Andrea and Kenzie and myself, are attempting to conquer the beast that is the Pride and Prejudice crawl! It starts off in chapter one with you writing 1k words! *shocked face* no warm ups here!!
Side note: The P&P crawl can be found in the WIF database once you’ve signed up! So look forward to that next year for those who didn’t sign up this time! Here’s the link for the Nanowrimo crawls though I don’t support them and can’t say that there are no curse words. Proceed at your own risk Crawls .
After I wrap up this blog post I’m gonna head over to my scrivener and open up Starry Subject for the first time in over a month!! I’m excited to get draft 2 up to date with draft 1 so I can continue onto ‘The End’.
All in all I encourage you to do what’s best for your body. Get up and do a gentle stretch. Refill your water and take some holy basil. Eat nutritious foods. PRAY! Then go and sit down and focus on something good.
‘Till next we meet
