*shyly enters from the abyss* Yo~ . . . I’m not dead! *awkward laughter* Okay so I do have a solid excuse(s) for not posting in . . . Woah two months. *blushes*
I got sick! . . . No really I did. (At least thats my excuse for October . . . I honestly don’t remember what happened in September *stares into the distance.*) Not just a flare up either. *flops down on a big soft pillow* come come and sit down with a cuppa and I’ll tell you all about it.
So it all started after I came home from Wednesday night service. Went to bed and I started shivering. Then I started shaking and I couldn’t stop for nearly two hours . . . It felt like a seizure. Super scary and thankfully I woke up my mom—teeth chattering so hard I could barely get the words out— and she watched over me and helped me drink soooo much water and pile on the blankets on top of me. Side note: I was super cold too! My hands went numb but my mom said I wasn’t cold to the touch.
Anyways it finally ended and I got some sleep. But then in the morning I had the worst flu and cold combo. It was not fun -_-. I got over the flu bit in a few days but the cold lasted two weeks!! Not fun at all .
Anyways I’m not at 100% but when am I, lol ;D . I’m still coughing and have more weariness than usual but I know this is my new normal for the next month or so.
SO storytime/excuse time over! I’m back and I’m going to start writing posts like this once a week! Almost like a diary entry I suppose? I’m calling it: “Chronicles of a Chronically Ill Writer” or something like that . . . Suggestions for the name?
So its Halloween! *spreads pumpkins around* This year I carved a pumpkin and painted it! . . . Sadly I don’t have a picture of it before the ants and rain got to it *cries* . It was a cat in a window and stars and clouds surrounding it . . . It wasn’t the best to be honest but it was fun to do! I baked the seeds and used the pumpkin pulp to make dog treats! My doggies LOVED it. I used about four cups of pulverized pumpkin, about 2 cups of oats, and two eggs. Baked it for about 20 minutes at 350 and it wasn’t fully cooked but they adored it.
Finn especially. He got territorial over it lol .
Do you and your family carve or paint pumpkins? Mine carved pumpkins ever so often—not a yearly thing—but the past oooo four years? I’ve requested pumpkins to decorate . I usually paint them but sometimes you just wanna get to carving, ya know?
My family doesn’t really celebrate Halloween. My parents really didn’t want to associate with it so it was always “Happy Harvest!” Lol . I didn’t grow up trick or treating either! Which was fine by me as my mom either baked a special treat or got us a candy bowl to share . We do have a Halloween tradition though! We watch “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” every year for about ten or so years I think? My dad loves it and gets nostalgic over it so we aim to enjoy it every year. My mom loves to watch the Night at the Museum movies on the 31’st too! Sadly we forget a lot of the time lol ;P . But usually we will watch it this time of year before all of the Christmas movie mayhem after Thanksgiving .
*looks down sadly at my cold coffee* welp I suppose I’ll end it here. Seriously considering another cup of coffee *stares with tired eyes* I stood wayyyyy too much at the fall festival last night at church. —I worked the craft table and soooo many bracelets were made—I’m off to write and socialize at the Kings Daughters Writing Camp! A Christian NANOWRIMO if you’re interested in signing up . Ta ta for now!
