Mood boards/ book aesthetics and messy days.

Soooo I took last week off unexpectedly from the blog.

Whoops :o

I’ve been struggling with focus and inspiration for writing. So yesterday I had the idea of making up some aesthetic/mood boards for my wips! I’m super proud of them and thought I’d share some here :)

I’m in love with making these and I don’t think I will stop. I made these to be 11×9 inches so that I can put them up as wallpaper on my iPad :D .

Inspiration is coming slowly, I’m dealing with a lot of symptoms today but I stationary biked for 3 miles and I’m super happy with that. I’m trying my best to attain my first and foremost goal which is to do all I can to get healthier.

Today I’m in bed for the majority of the day. I’ve got my electric blanket on medium and I’m struggling to fight off a migraine. I ache and hurt all over, anxiety and depression are trying their hardest to pull me down and I’ve forgotten to drink water when I really really should.

My brain is hyper focused on reading fanfiction and having all the ideas for writing it but won’t let me write any. My to be read pile weeps in the corner and my room cries with it.

Honestly I want to cry alongside them.

But a still small voice calls out in the chaos of my mind and reminds me: it’s okay to rest, dear one.

Instead of being upset with myself, fueling the fires of mental disorders, why don’t I look at this day a different way?

How about today is a day where I give myself some space? How bout I do what I can and have to but pursue things I can and read and game and sleep? How bout I channel the energy I would toward beating myself up and rather recenter how I view these types of days?

Yes, those clothes in the corner need to be put up. Yes that paint water needs to be washed out before mold sets in. Yes the dirty hamper needs emptied and the bathroom needs tidied.

But they don’t have to be done at this exact moment. They don’t even have to be done by the end of the day. It won’t matter all to much if they stay like that a little while longer. So if instead I put all of my energy into restful pursuits, giving my mind and body a break, who knows if in a few hours I might have enough energy to empty that paint water and the laundry hamper when I go to feed my doggies?

There’s a time to give yourself deadlines and to push yourself, I agree most heartedly.

But there’s also a time to give yourself total and utter grace. Pray and relax for a while, dear heart. You will most likely be oh so thankful for it.

Anyways, that’s what’s up with me. How’s your week been? Do you need any prayers? I’d love to be there for you <3 . I know I’d appreciate all the prayers.

‘Till next we meet.

P.S. my current obsession? The Pretender (1997-2001 show) it has one episode in the first season that needs some fast forwarding but other than that a pretty clean and intriguing show!! The character development and the world building is amazing. 10/10 recommend.

P.P.S if you have a show/book/game rec I’m all ears! ;D

  1. First of all, I need to know where the “Like” button is…I can’t find it. But I’m blind so I probably just can’t see it.
Second…HOW DO YOU MAKE THOSE BOARDS??? I’m super jealous and I need to learn how to make one asap. Also, I’m totally following you on Pinterest now.

    1. Omyword thank you!! <3 you made my day!
(I don’t think I have a like button and now I’ll try to make that happen :D)
So I use Canva to put them together :D , I get my pictures from Pinterest or —you can use Pexel or any copyright free site if you’d rather— and then I assemble them as you would a scrapbook page? Canva has these great frames that can make your pictures different sizes and look torn and stuff to match the aesthetic of your character/wip :D.
      Omyword thank you! <3

  2. Ohhhh, I looooove these aesthetics, Tiff!! I am so intrigued by your story! I love how the collages give a good impression of the characters but still provide enough mystery to make me want to read the story and actually meet them! (I’ve been following your blog for a bit now, but this is the first time I’ve been able to comment! So hi!)

I also agree: making aesthetics is so much fun.

I looked up The Pretender, and it sounds so intriguing! I will definitely have to look into it more! Currently, I’m watching BBC’s Merlin and absolutely loving it overall. Some of the magic toes the line a bit for me, but the friendships and banter are golden. The Mysterious Benedict Society show on Disney+ is also amazing! And as for books, I have been rereading the wonderful Beaumont and Beasley series by Kyle Robert Shultz. I also received one of my favorites for Christmas, Okay For Now by Gary D. Schmidt, and am having a wonderful time revisiting it.

I’m so sorry you’re fighting extra hard against the pain today, dear. Prayers and tight hugs! And I can tell from your words that Jesus is sustaining you through this, giving you grace. Thank you for sharing and being an encouragement and light! :blue_heart:

    1. Omyword hi!Thank you so much!! This comment brought a huge smile that hasn’t gone away!!
*blushes* I’m so glad that the boards reeled you in! :D That’s really encouraging!
I’m so glad I got you interested in the Pretender series! It’s such a comfort show now . . . Oooo I like some of Merlin but yeah the magic toes the line, I watch clips of it though :D . The mysterious Benedict society has a show now?!? I need this in my life. —I read the books as a teen and loved them—
Ooo I’ll have to look into that book. Thank you so much for the prayers and hugs *bambi eyes* Jesus truly is sustaining me.
You are so welcome and thank you so much for your kind words! I’m so glad I can be an encouragement and a light .
