‘Twas A Busy Week!

Hiya Scribblings! *plops down with a cup of cocoa* so I’ll start this off by informing y’all that I completed Nanowrimo/Kings Daughters Writing Camp!
Monday morning a few of us ladies decided we wanted, nay needed, the 10k words in a day badge. And so the battle began.

And I won that battle!! I’m not certain if any of the other ladies did, but they certainty gave it a good shot! At the end of the month I ended up with a grand total of: 48,146 words and 12 chapters.
*sighs* I’m super proud of me and everyone else at Camp.

That was on Monday. That loooooong writing day. I ended writing at 9pm and it was fabulous. —I did take breaks but still.—

The next day my mom and I headed over to my Grandma’s house to help put up her Christmas tree.
My Aunt and cousins helped out and that was a fun time. Later in the evening my mom and I went to our Women’s bible study.

Gorgeous book.

There was about 10 or so of us and it was a fun fellowshipping time :) . Lots of laughter and a good batch of cocoa warmed us through the cold drive home.
Plus there were two babies there and babies make everything better. ;)

The next day we had Zone therapy and errands to run! We left at 9 and didn’t get home ‘till about 4 or 5. It was a lot and thankfully I was able to rest while my mother went to learn the ropes at AWANA at church.

Thursday looked like a big nap to be honest with you and most of Friday wasn’t much better . . . My momma was rather chatty on Friday and I informed her after a few conversations, “Momma, I have no spoons. In fact, I’m forging one spoon right now, and it keeps melting on me.” She sighed and understood and left me be for a bit afterward.
She’s great.

That night we had dinner with a family from church and I can honestly say that it was a lovely night filled with great conversations, tasty food, and adorable littles. We ended up leaving at 10 we were having so much fun! Oops!

Saturday morning, bright and early, we headed over to the church for a deep cleaning day and to practice the ‘Hanging of the Greens’ service. I vacuumed chairs alongside a fleet of other folk and by noonish we headed home where I crashed for a few hours.
THEN we headed out to our Choir’s Christmas party! Everyone brought finger foods and it was great. Our leftover pumpkin bars from the night before and just baked taco bites were delicious. The taco bites seemed to be a hit! (Lifeofjoy.me for the recipes!)

Then Sunday came around and after church I discovered that all but one of our kittens had passed away . . . A dog had thought they were toys and played with them.

Shiloh watching over the kitten.

The little black kitten was freezing and so I wrapped her up and taco’d her in a heating pad. We prayed over her and hoped for the best. Feeding her warmed milk, water, and canned food when she was awake enough to receive it.
After most of the day she was able to stand up—albeit rather shakily—and crawl into my arms. *tears up* she’s precious.

The momma cat took her in last night and nursed her. Which was good because Midnight—the kitten—was so hungry that she started biting my fingers.
Warmed up a towel and blanket and made a nest in their cathouse outside. This morning she greeted me with a hearty ‘mew’ and all is right in the world.

Like a friend from church says: “It’s country life.”

Hanging of the Greens Service

We had a great choir practice—the last one of the year—and then a fabulous Hanging of the Greens service.
It was me and my family’s first experience with the Hanging of the Greens and I gotta say it was a great way to open the Christmas season.

*Slurps cocoa* welp that was my week! Busy busy busy! Thankfully this week is decidedly not.
I plan to decorate the house, clean my room, and walk my doggies and only leave my house a grand total of two times before the weekend. *sighs* bliss.
Well, total bliss would be not leaving the house at all before the weekend, but meh. I’ll take it.
Totally recouping my spoons this week and taking all the immune support. Naps are in my future.

How was your week? Has your church done anything for Christmas yet? To my writers: how did your November turn out?

‘Till next we meet.
