February Wrap Up!

Ho ho ho! *Impersonates a French ghost.* How are you my friends? I hope your pain is minimal and your brain is fog free!

This is our second ever wrap up post :D . I’m excited to see if these types of posts will continue or if I’ll get bored of them. *ponders.*
Any who! Let’s get down to business!

Does all my knowledge of this movie come from the Kingdom Hearts games? Yes.

*clears throat* sorry I couldn’t resist. ;)

So to start the month off I went Swing Dancing with my brother and a gal friend of mine!! I haven’t been swing dancing in YEARS and it was so much fun to get back in the *cough* swing of things ;) .
We danced for 3 hours and it was a blast. I highly recommend trying it out if you can. :)
Surprisingly I was not sent into a flare up!!! I was so happy about that and I think it has to do with me exercising more often than not!
(oh and swing dancing is super easy to get into as the basics are simple.)

Speaking of exercising! I’ve been doing more yoga and some other exercising like walking and rhythm boxing on my Switch.
The yoga I’ve been doing is on YouTube by ‘Yoga by Joelle’. She’s an amazing woman who has fibromyalgia too! So there’s quite a bit of videos centered around chronic illness and how to alleviate some of the pain/discomfort.
Her routines are the first EVER to leave me feeling relaxed and bettered instead of my usual experience of feeling wrung out and worse than I started.
HIGHLY recommend you check and try out a few of her videos.

Media I’ve consumed this month:

Books and Switch Games and movies:

  • The Untold Story by Genevieve Cogman. The last book in the Invisible Library series and I’m sooo glad I finally finished this :D. It was so much fun and the ending made me smile and I’m hopeful that a new series with these characters is written in the next few years. This is a non-Christian author with a few minor curse words and it does have a magic system with fae and dragons.
  • Beauty and the Beast — all four versions. (Kindle edition that seems to not be up for sale anymore)It was a bit . . . Uh, dry. But I’m glad I read it! Well, most of it. I just finished the first version which took up more than half of the entire book!! *shudders* wow. If you like fairytales then I highly recommend reading the foundations for Beauty and the Beast.
  • Code: Realize. Guardian of rebirth. (Standard Switch edition.) This is a Switch game that is basically a visual novel with multiple endings. This is part of a genre of game called Otome. Otome literally translates into “Maiden” and the Otome genre focuses heavily on romance that targets young women. I.E. Lots and lots of beautiful men to choose from lol :D . This game is set in an alternate universe in the 1800’s in Steampunk London. You play as a young girl with no memories past 2 or so years ago. Everything thing and everyone she touches dies. And thats where your story begins.
  • Disney Dreamlight Valley. I’ve been meaning to get back into this game and just recently started playing again. I have soooo much content to go through on this game and I know I won’t be bored with it for a LONG time.
  • Encanto. My mom and I watched it a couple weeks ago due to a Dreamlight Valley update with Mirabele. My Mom wanted to enjoy the new update so we watched the movie to get the backstory for the new addition to the Valley. 8/10 :) we really liked it. At the end I turned to Mom and said “Surprisingly I liked it as much as Tangled??” Which is rare for me since Tangled is my favorite Disney movie next to Bambi. Does have magic in it but it’s not that bad in our opinion.
  • Little Women (2019 version). OMWORD <3 . I watched this movie during a gals night this month with some friends from church. Three of us had watched previous versions while one of our group had never even heard of Little Women!! :o It was so good and it was presented in a new way of present time with flashbacks and gahhhh it was so good. (Side note: our galentine’s night was wonderful. I made onigiri and overnight oats and some painting supplies for a craft session before the movie. Such a fun night!)
Our painting session. Mine is the one nearest to the brushes.

IOS apps:

  • A Kinder World. It’s an app/game that you can play twice a day. Watering your plants and growing your collection. You can also decorate different rooms and one of the best things about this game beside the cozy vibes it give is the mental health aspect. You can name your emotions, write thankfulness, and do breathing exercises to “enrich” your water so your plant grows better/faster. Over all I love this game <3 .
  • Tsuki Odyssey. This is like Animal Crossing’s distant baby cousin. You play as Tsuki, a rabbit, who is moving back home after adventuring. You can fish, decorate your home, listen to the lovely soundtrack, take pictures, talk to the villagers, and harvest your carrots/money every couple hours. It’s lovely and only takes a few minutes of your time every day. (Or whenever you remember it, lol.)
  • Focus Plant. This is a super cute way to set a timer and focus! You can’t log out of the app while the timer is on or you don’t get the reward of rain water to water your plants :) .
  • Ryah’s Rhythm is a fun and cute cozy word game. The soundtrack is pleasant and it has some mini games to give you a break from the word games.
  • Verse Locker. An awesome app for memorizing scripture!! It has a few different mini games to help you memorize scripture like blurring some of the words, only having the first initial of every word, typing the scripture, and tapping words from a pool of words to type out the scripture.
  • All apps above are free to download and use :) .

Creative outputs:

Below are some of the digital art pieces I drew in February! And a piece of glass I etched for my sissy’s birthday present.

I also got 6 chapters of A Starry Subject done! Draft 2 is finally up to date with draft 1 and I can finally write brand new words.
I plotted out a brand new story for the month of March. A fairytale retelling involving Red Riding Hood and Beauty and the Beast mixed together in a cozy cafe setting. More on that in later posts!

Whew! That’s all I think for now. I hope you enjoyed this post and sorry it’s a bit late in the day getting out. ‘Till next we meet.
